(Dutch version further below)

This model is also useful for further professionalising teams. Really ‘taking responsibility’ is characterized in his view by simply fixing a problem if you have the opportunity to do so. But often people react in other ways, briefly below. This model is perfect for determining and assessing your own response and that of team members. Even better is when you as a team use this model to get together in difficult situations.

Denial
You can always stop and just do not solve the problem. Everything stays with the old.

Blame
Usually goes with anger. In principle you blame someone else. You are actually a victim, because you place yourself completely out-of-control. You cannot influence anything. It was someone else. Everything stays with the old.

Justify
Try to show that there was no other way. We try to blame all natural and supernatural powers that we can imagine. We do not think that it can also be us. It was the situation. Everything stays with the old.

Guilt
It is a step forward that at least we admit that we have played a role ourselves. But still, nothing is solved. You did it wrong and creep into your shell. Everything stays with the old.

Commitment
If you feel that you have to do something, but for whatever reason do not really want to, then it is an obligation. Obligation towards your boss or yourself. You have to solve the problem, but out of necessity, not because you want to. Not everything stays with the old, but the initiative is not very sustainable. People who only act out of obligation usually need more guidance and control.
Responsibility
This is the highest level. You do not have to look whose fault it is. You do not have to blame yourself. What happened? Solve it. That is responsibility. From intrinsic motivation, not because you are forced. Improvements are realized sustainably and continuously because people feel involved and feel safety in order to fail.
